The Easter mystery yarn box is always popular and this year because Easter is early plus shows I will only be selling a limited number .
Many Christians worldwide celebrate Easter with special church services, music, candlelight, flowers and the ringing of church bells. Easter processions are held in some countries such as the Philippines and Spain.
Many towns and villages in Italy have sacred dramas about the episodes of the Easter story – these are held in the piazzas on Easter Day. Pastries called corona di nove are baked in the form of a crown. Other traditional foods include capretto (lamb) and agnello (kid/goat). Easter in Poland is celebrated with family meals that include ham, sausages, salads, babka (a Polish cake) and mazurka, or sweet cakes filled with nuts, fruit and honey.
Although Easter maintains great religious significance, many children in countries such as Australia, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, think of it as a time to decorate eggs and to participate in Easter egg hunts where eggs are hidden by the Easter Bunny.
Each box will contain 100g of hand dyed yarn, pattern and high quality gifts to complement the theme.Because a lot of the gifts are hand made by other crafters, delivery of the box will be in time for Easter in the UK but because of postal delays I can’t guarantee overseas .
The yarn is hand painted using environmentally friendly dyes , and is sourced from either the UK or South America.
I use non-toxic acid dyes , the dye process has very little waste , and all of the dyes are exhausted into yarns before any water is poured away. I use food grade citric acid as setting agent, and rinse with water, to maintain a low impact on the environment. I take care to provide colourfastness, but some bleeding may occur in the first wash.
