The Flower Power Fund raises money to help Marie Curie provide care, guidance and support to people living with a terminal illness in the UK. Each month a Guest Dyer is asked to choose a flower and dye yarn to compliment The flower.
The Flower I chose is the Forget Me Not, which is a beautiful delicate flower. This was the favourite flower of my best friends mother, who sadly lost her life to cancer .
Forget Me Not is dyed initially on two bases, a merino/nylon fingering weight yarn and a luxury fingering weight base, merino/silk/yak which is a more delicate hue. Both bases are also made into the popular gift a balls . I can also take pre orders for dk weight yarn. These will go live at 9am tomorrow 1st September UK time .
I use non-toxic acid dyes The dye process has very little waste , and all of the dyes are exhausted into yarns before any water is poured away. I use food grade citric acid as setting agent, and rinse with water, to maintain a low impact on the environment. I take care to provide colourfastness, but some bleeding may occur in the first wash.
Each skein is hand painted so no two yarns are identical.
Although this yarn is super wash I recommend hand washing .
All items are photographed in natural light, but Please bear in mind variances among colour monitors may mean that the colours may be slightly different on your screen. However, every effort has been taken to ensure that the photographs that we have taken accurately represent the colours of the yarn.
all yarns are stored in a smoke and pet free environment
