The four Sundays of Advent Shawl box was so popular  last year it’s back again this year , but if you don’t knit socks then this advent of Shawls could be for you . The month of December is a busy time in the run up to Christmas, therefore this will be a gorgeous treat for yourself or a wonderful Christmas/Solstice gift for a creative friend. Advent this year begins on Sunday 1st December.

This year's theme is christmas food and traditions in the UK. Ours christmas food, recipes and traditions in the Uk are very unique, often passed down through generations most families carry on a tradition in one way or another . Some are even centurys old .Christmas cake, Christmas pudding and mince pies are a quintessential part of British Christmas. These time-honoured festive specialities with their warm, spicy fragrance and rich, fruity flavours epitomise Christmas. But why are these treats unique to the UK and why do we enjoy them only at Christmas? The answer can be traced back to the great medieval Christmas feasts of England, which set the pattern for many future Christmases to come. Our Christmas treats have a long, fascinating history that’s uniquely evocative of our culinary past. Christmas in medieval England was an important twelve-day festival, with the celebrations reaching their peak in a splendid finale to mark the end of the Christmas season on 6 January, or Twelfth Night hence the ‘twelve days of Christmas’.

This box will contain 4 shawl patterns and 100g 425m super wash merino/nylon yarn enough to knit each shawl. The box will also include an exclusive project bag To store your project in. The yarn will also be suitable for other projects if you don't like knitting socks.

The yarn is  hand painted using environmentally friendly dyes .
The dye Process: I use non-toxic acid dyes which has very little waste as all of the dyes are exhausted into yarns before any water is poured away. I use food grade citric acid as setting agent, and rinse with water, to maintain a low impact on the environment. I take care to provide colourfastness, but some bleeding may occur in the first wash.
